Provide an opportunity
for family and friends of public servants to remember and memorialize
those who have contributed to the common good.

Develop an internet
based "Local Government Honor Roll" with on-line databases that
contain:(A) Information on individuals who have served in local government
as appointed or elected officials and who have made a positive contribution
to their communities; and, (B) a multimedia library of stories that recognize
positive local government projects and accomplishments and which would
be available to schools, community groups, and the media.

Create a "Careers
in Local Government" website with links to all of the national associations
of local government organizations (e.g., International City & County
Management Association (ICMA), National League of Cities (NLC), International
Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), National Recreation and Park Association
(NRPA), etc.).

Serve as a speakers'
bureau and event organizer to promote public service as a career or as
a volunteer activity, and to recognize/publicize positive accomplishments
in local government.
